Pay is Rising for Electricians (2023 Data)


In April of 2023, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released information about wage statistics across all industries. According to the report, average wages for electricians increased to $65,280 in 2022, with an average hourly wage of $31.39. This includes all electricians in the United States, including apprentices who earn on average less. This rise in pay is an improvement from $63,310 in 2021 and $61,550 in 2020.

Employment for electricians will remain steady. By 2032, about 50,200 new jobs will be added to the economy. This is a growth of about 6% which is as fast as average for all occupations. The sector is predicted to continue to grow as electrical infrastructure will be rebuilt, new homes will be built, and green energy will grow in popularity.
