Some colleges offer co-op programs for the students to earn practical skills and knowledge from hands-on experience which is something potential employers place value on. Also consider an internship program for the same reason.

While there is no need to receive certifications, the potential Electronics Engineer needs a bachelor’s degree, a passing Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) score, relevant hands-on work experience and a passing score on the Professional Engineering exam.
